The best thing to get rid of toilet stains is to use Coca Cola on the toilet! Splash it all around the bowl and put the lid down, leave for a couple of hours (overnight or something if poss) then flush away.

Tesco or Sainsburys Toilet Limescale remover or Cillit Bang Power Grime and Lime Cleaner. All will do the job. Read the instructions, some times you may have to repeat it twice.

It is a difficult one.The cause is the glazing it is not deep enough and the stain has entered the porous surface. The stain will come out with raw bleach. Then cover the whole area with a paint sealant that is used on cars ensuring it has Polymers as the main ingredient.Autoglym is best and will last for up to a year. Its not nutty it works I have done it.

Keep putting Bleach into your tank that flushes the toilet.
A BOTTLE AT A TIME should help, when it has gone keep brushing the area with a good grade toilet cleaner.
Good Luck.
Can you tell me what sort of water you have is it Soft or Hard?

In the toilet bowl or outside? - I have used Viakal on mine seems to work, though might try the coca cola next time, cheaper and cleaner for the environment.

Limescale remover (not bleach) and a stiff brush daily for a month, scrub the remover in for about 2 miuntes, and leave over night. Flush before use incase you get splash-back.
DO NOT PUT BLEACH IN WITH LIMESCALE REMOVER !!!! THE FUMES ARE POISONOUS !!!
Bleach does not remove limescale, it hides it by turning it white.

Roll up your sleeves, and get hold of a kitchen scouring pad (remember to rinse it before you use it on the dishes again), and just scrub-a-dub-dub - it'll come off eventually.
