I sometimes think like that. There doesn't seem to be any meaning to it all
I've learnt that you've just got to get on with it though

This is secret in the mind that we hardly notice. We very rarely realise that we every now and then recalibrate our mind by asking questions like this, or by declaring that life is meaningless in which nothing make any sense. This type of thinking therefore, is not pointless in itself; it has a definite purpose. It acts like a starting point for a renewal or regeneration processes in the mind. When we induce a sense of meaninglessness, or purposelessness we break free from what is possessive of our thoughts, we suspend our reason and then a sense of wonder takes over. The fact is that we never think life is pointless, we ask is there some better meaning to life, or is there a better purpose in my being?
In a much wider sense of the world we live in, we have many instance that lead to think like this. We have thousands of years of history full of heroic exploits of human courage and intelligence. We had great wars, wondrous inventions, and revolutions in science, art, culture, language, civilised dwelling, and philosophical thought in the name of development, but the issues and problems we have today are not very different from the day of the past. This makes me personally wonder if we as human beings have developed at all? Has it all been in vain that the best of the minds of past and present cannot get human race rid of disease, poverty, corruption, inequality and conflict? This does induce a level of despair in the mind, but within the gloom of that despair there is always glimmers of hope.
There is always a new search and new horizons opening up in the mind, whenever we realise that it is all coming to an end. We can see even beyond where life as we know it ends, a life after the life. The fact is that life is random, meaningless, and pointless as its normality; it is like an unploughed and unattended field that we need to cultivate for our purpose in order to harvest the fruit of our labour. God has created us capable of being the order in the chaos of our world.

At sometime most people will have thought so,so yes its normal. To my mind life is something we did not choose and whilst its a living hell for millions and no life at all for any baby bornwith incurable and fatal illnesses, the rest of us ought to at least try to enjoy the hand we have been dealt with as much good grace as we can without doing harm to any other human being and doing good if the opportunity comes up.Its not pointless,we just dont know what the point is.I honestly beleive we are meant to enjoy being alive.

everyone thinks differently about life. it's initially normal to feel/think that life is pointless, but for the longest time, you will find that life is pointless until you yourself give it meaning, steer it in your own direction, make it a point that life for you is NOT pointless, because, sooner or later, i believe that life for every living things has its purpose, whether it be negative or positive, good or bad. =)

If you are a thoughtful and honest person, yes.
If we could create real meaning for ourselves, then we wouldn't be continually asking these same questions over and over again. But we cannot create the reason for which we were created - that's impossible.
When people say you have to find your own meaning, what they mean is that you have to find something to do that increases your self esteem which then results in some feeling that you are here on earth doing what you are supposed to be doing. But those feelings are meaningless.
“Unless you assume a God, the question of life’s purpose is meaningless.” –Bertrand Russell (20th century philosopher, mathematician and Nobel Laureate)
So the only way life can have a point is if God exists. So seek God if you want real meaning and purpose.

Yes. If you didn't struggle with this problem, there would be something wrong with you. I don't know your age, but as you grow into mid life you realize life is really about relationships. I've found the more involved I am with people, the more I find purpose in life. Family, faith, close friends, nature and the arts are what counts for me. Perhaps you know this now. It took me a while to figure this out.
I'd say the purpose of living comes from relationships, knowledge, nature, faith and using your talents for your own enrichment and for giving back to society.

A life without points would be very flat indeed. I think if u have such a life, then it would be normal to think of it as pointless. Alternatively, go find some sharp mental terrain, then your life will become pointed.

Yes, it is a normal human thought, sometimes life does seem pointless, but we have to learn to overcome this.
