Since the Earth is at an angle when the Northern Hemisphere is having summer like we are now, it is winter in the Southern Hemisphere, like wise when it is Winter in the North it is then summer in the South.

The Southern hemisphere is in winter right now. Seasons are opposite due to the tilt of the Earth. During the northern Summer the Earth is farther from the sun but the North is tilted toward it.. The southern winter the Eath is closer and the south tilted toward the sun. That's why southern summers are warmer than northern.
