Hi..
Sorry, Im not a guy...Hopefully you can tell..
But I just wanted to say...
My ex used to think I was capable of spontaneous crying to win an arguement...But ever since I was tiny, I can cry at the slightest thing...Its really embarrasing..I was just sitting at my desk yesterday and thought about something that had upset me before and i got tears welling up...I really dont ever use it to manipulate, cos I think keeping your cool is a far more attractive trate and more respectable...But I cant help it...
xx

Depending on the relationship. Sometimes, yes, it can be a form of manipulation. But when that becomes clear, then the relationship is over.
A man seeing a woman cry, and all women know this, makes him want to protect her, "fix" the problem, hold her, and generally reinforce his commitment to her. Nothing wrong with that.
Not only does she feel cared for, but he feels more like a man. Win- win situation.
As a man, I can only say that the sight of a woman I am close to suffering brings out the basic male response.
Protection.

Never........if you're in a situation where this happens, it's soul destroying. It either means you've been a total pillock, or an inadequate one....
As for how it makes me feel, if I have been a total pillock (and I have) it makes me feel unworthy, useless, a jerk . .. and if I wasn't the cause, then my attempts at comforting and putting the world to rights are just as useless (sometimes), so I feel awkward.
To see anyone cry, indicates they have an undescribable pain in their hearts that just shouldn't be there, the situation shouldn't arise.... in an ideal world, we should all be aware of our partner's feelings and know how to prevent something like this happening.
Unfortunately, we seem to act first and think later....too much later and subsequently, pay the price.

I'm not a man, but let me tell you something, a boy in my class is such a crybaby that he has cried 1 to 3 or 4 times and the whole class knows it. In the worst case, he cried just because he lost his CHEAP sandals when my class is camping.

I guess it would depend on the situation really, but normally no. Taking the chance on sounding sexist...it makes me feel protective in that I want to seek out the reason why and fix it. If that makes any sense.

It's emotional blackmail. I never hang around, she normally stops by the time I get back from the pub.

You know it seems like these young girls have it down too. I feel like they're just trying to con people into doing what they want!
