Hi and Good morning.....Good question! I bet our Founding Forefathers are having a 'field day' with the same exact thought that you have now. One of the big major problems is the corruption in our government system now. The lies and deception and the greed of power. In my opinion it was never that bad until the last 10 years. We the people have been lied to by our own government and it's pathetic how our government has been running these past 7 years. Our country was for all who wanted to have freedom and from a monarchy ruled situation. This is why our ancestors fought for their lives in the Revolutionary War. For Freedom and a different form of government. Our Founding Forefathers went into great lengths to form our Constitution. Many died for what they believed in. Now look at our government! This country was for those who wanted a better life and for freedom and now look how are country is...The Government wants to change what our Founding Forefathers had created for this new country. If the government gets its way, we may not have a Constitution anylonger, at least not the one our Forefathers had created. In my opinion, our hopes and dreams have literally gone down the drain due to the individuals that are in the WH now and in our Congress and the H of Reps. We have been lied too so many times, who are we to believe anymore? We definitely need a complete overhaul in the WH and in other departments but the problem still remains, how do we know that the next officals won't do the same. I wish I knew the answer. I am not sure there was ever a time when the USA bought 'hope and inspiration to the world'.
It seems to have begun to stop being a source of hope and inspiration to its people over the years though.
And now I come to think of it, it might have started around the time of the Vietnam War. Isn't that interesting?
Most people in the rest of the world have always known that US Governments are corrupt and self serving. We have been on the recieving end of it for a very long time. Now it is the people of the US who are realising that their representatives in Government are not all they seem. And for some reason its a bit of a shock to some people.

Isn't trying to rid the world of murderous cowards bringing hope to any that would like to see their children live free? What is your definition of bringing hope? Ignoring that men women and children are killed by these Islamic thugs and telling them we will negotiate their futures with the murderers?

George Bush and the Neo-cons happened...
They took the sympathy which the world was expressing after 9/11 and corrupted it for their own political agenda (of creating a "free" Iraq). Even though Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11.

That country was hijacked in 2000 with fraudulent placement of bush in the White House.
The country has not been the same SINCE.
