You did not say whether you had the metal kind or a plastic one. The plastic ones are actually harder to untangle because you have to make sure that you do not damage the plastic while you are twisting it. Sometimes it is easier to purchase a new Slinky. Sometimes it is best to save that type of project for a rainy/bored day when you have nothing better to do. Start at one end of the Slinky, and carefully examine the direction that it is twisted in. Take one section at a time, and twist it slowly, being careful not to bend the pieces, until you reach the end. This can take hours if it's badly tangled or a few minutes if it's slightly tangled. You twist it, but if you ask me buy another one, you can get them for like, 1 dollar, I'd just but another one and avoid anger.
