Depends on what you do.
In my job I work with a lot of men and women that on occasions have saved someone's grandmother, grandfather, father, mother, brother, sister, etc. from death by performing first aid and cpr...can they be considered heroes?
When someone loses all their money and wants to kill themselves and you talk them out of it..are you a hero?
When you make someone feel at ease and happy their last few minutes of life...are you a hero?
