For what purpose?
A Toyota is reliable, as is a German-built Ford.
An Audi has a high standard of fit and finish.
A Land Rover is great off-road.
A Bugatti is great for very high speeds.
Each is poor at most of the other tasks (although the Bugatti does also have a high standard of fit and finish).
There is no overall best, just a best suited to a particular purpose.

I admit to a great affection for Audi - looks good, excellent finish, exhilarating performance and highly acceptable levels of depreciation. My wife runs an Audi A4 Avant TDI and me a TT Coupe 2.0. Both are fantastic cars and are special to drive.

well I have had 2 fords escort & XR2, 2 Volvo's 340& 240, Saab 900 turbo, toyota celica, Nissan primera, A8, BMW 540(best handling but crap quality), A6 and now have a Lexus, and the Lexus (toyota) is the best quality, most realiable, most comfortable, but not the best handling car.
it all depends what you want form a car!
Alex.
