Try adjusting it in BIOS. After powering ON, press Del or F2 to enter BIOS menu. Look for VGA Share Memory size.

The video systems on notebooks for the most part are far less powerful than their desktop relatives. But like desktop computers there are many types of video subsystems in notebook computers.

On-board video such as the Intel 950 and the Nvidia 6150 graphics core will fall on it's face during any kind of gaming. These types of graphic cores have little if any dedicated video and will use your system RAM. (you may still be able to control how much video they use)

Dedicated graphic subsystem come in the way of a mini-PCI type card. These type cards typically have memory built right on to the card, how much will depend on the card. These will even use system RAM on some notebooks.

Best thing for you is to find out which graphics system you have on your notebook and go from there. I still would max out the amount of RAM your notebook will support as well as your OS.

287 is the memory that the graphic card owns and use it for its own uses the 64 is the memory you gave to the graphic card from the ram. All graphic cards have their own memory.

If I understand it means there is 64M in hardwired chip(s) on the card, and is getting the rest from your system memory.
