I think I discovered Yahoo! Answers way before they even had Polls and Surveys. lol Remember those days? When every other violation notice went out because someone was "polling?" Yahoo! couldn't keep up with all of the people polling so it sort of became, "If you can't beat 'em... join 'em!" And they gave the people what they were begging for.
Well..... to answer your question. I think I did my time on Yahoo! Answers by constantly giving good, clear, thought out questions to the point where I was feeling this..... how do I describe it?? hmm....... feeling this sense of "responsibility." Like I HAD to help this person as if their life and my life depended upon it. I became invested in a much too unhealthy way.
So instead of discovering Yahoo Answers.. I discovered Y!A P&S.... a place where you find a smorgasboard of EVERYTHING!! I can pick and choose depending on my mood. If I need laughter........ oh, it more than exists. If I need to find depth, YES.... shocking, but it does exist as well!! And if I need advice...... its been amazing how many P&S'ers are ready to reach out with so much to give.
So I guess when I am on Y!A this has become my little home.... my safe haven if you will. It just feels comfy.... it just feels like it holds a little of everything for me. :)
It's soooooo good to see you asking. Feels like old times my King! :) *curtsies*

With a smile I answer...what did you do? Then again I would say depending upon how far back we go, there were "Letters to the Editors" in newspapers, then playing games and surfing the net. There are a couple of magazines on-line that ask for responses that can be quite entertaining and informative. Some polls and surveys send out gifts and money, it makes it fun and challenging.

Well Ricard very interesting question indeed. Yes they did polls and surveys on certain topics and also got results too of certain place or city people. They did the job practically in front of a person asking him or her. But when they discovered Yahoo Answers they did get a result of polls and surveys of not one but many topics and also people from various places.

Taking time away from my beach view.......O where has that "OLD FART" gone to. O wait there is one from him and it reads............She replies
Do you remember those days. The days of major violations and the trolls OMG the trolls....We use to stay up all night and hope that you never got a violation because then you had to fight it because someone was being a in your words...Poop Head..
O wait I am not having a conversation with you I hope you know that I am just out looking for "Old Farts" great questions.
My point I am trying to make is that I think that other sights kept most entertained but Yahoo keeps us planted......She runs away into the sunset along a beach front never to be seen again.....

People who frequent Polls & Survey invested their time on manual work and advertisements on whatever media to conduct their jobs on daily basis,on manual, verbal, advertisements etc. as to keep the interest and expand their their network.
What did they do before they discovered Yahoo Answers?
They were investing time to discover Yahoo Answers for us all as to make it convenient for fans like us and create a network globally for all ,as to make our individual opinions and views to theQuestions asked and Answered by us to the (their )Polls and Surveys.
Tricky Question though Richard........;)

Before I discovered Answers,I spent a lot of my time doing all kinds of things in all kinds of different places. Those days there was no internet or mobile phone network.
But as you can see, they managed to invent satellites, computer chips and modems. Now anyone can log on and ask questions and be certain that somebody will give an answer. Not only that, you can get a lot of answers to a question.

I am a Ham Radio operator and can talk to electronic nuts like myself. I also scrounge (recycle) electronics and other stuff for my school system and local youth center. I am a member of a CHIT (Chemical Hazardous Identification Team) that works with firemen and police when there is a spill or fire involving chemicals. I substitute teach. I am retired but life can have a few moments to visit Yahoo.

I stumbled in here sometime in 2006. I asked a question about a car repair and somehow I wandered here from that section. I'm glad I did because I met my girlfriend here in November 2006. We are now living together.
