10-14 days after the first day of your last period. Eg. if you got your period on the 1st august, start trying around the 10-14th if your cycle is normally 4 weeks long.

In short about a week after your period and 2 weeks before your next period. the closer to ovulation the better so get an ovulation test kit from the supermarket or chemist. I always know when I am ovulating because i get a very dull period like cramp around my pelvis generally on one side, the side I am ovulating from. and you get a more runny cervical mucus when ovulating. do a pregnancy test if you don't get a period on the day its due or soon after. and do an ovulation test when you think you might be ovulating. packets always have instructions so read them carefully

Good luck and fingers crossed for you!

For some people just coming off the pill, it takes there body awhile to get back to normal periods. I don't believe in all that cycle stuff bla bla bla. Ive got three children all under 4. I found the best time to conceive when we where having sex on a regular basis, and relaxing and stress free. good luck

I would say count 10 days from the start of your period, then have sex on day 10 and every other day until day 16-18, that should more than cover your fertile days. Good luck!

PS. I wouldn't bother with ovulation kits just yet, I think it makes the whole procedure too 'mechanical' and you don't need to be that involved if you've just started trying - just relax and it will happen.

well you need to find out about ovulation, that is when you can get prego, it happens about mid cycle, or about 2 weeks after your period, what happens is your body releases a egg that lives for about 3 days, thats when you need to do it. there are sign for this, kind of like a mid cycle period that is mild, most people experiance a discharge, that is kind of like jell-o sticky and stuff. thats when you need to do "it". then if you are late on your period then you can test, there is always the test that you can use up to 5 days before your period, but the accuracy is bad but increases as you get closer. you can always try the ovulation test that the store sells, follow the instructions and it will let you know how to use them.... but i say listin to your body and it will give you the signs.

Right, ignore everything everyones told you about timings, counting etc etc. Basically, once you start concentrating on these then it stops being fun to have sex and starts becoming BABY MAKING. when you put the pressure on your body to make a baby, it freaks out (as our bodies are good at!) and conception will not happen.

This month Ive had a LOT of fun with my hubby, sex every other day (yey me lol!) and as of this week am having promising signs. and if Im not PG then it just means one more month when I dont have crazy hormones.

so forget all the science and have a good time. If you want to chat drop me a line.

hugs to everyone on here who are hoping to be mums and dads soon :) Love, Bxx

If you start your period today for argument sake. Day 1 of your cyle will be today. As from day 9-10 your body starts preparing for ovulation. It is advisable that you have sex every other day commencing from day 10 up to day 19. you are sure that by the time you ovulate there is a sperm waiting to fertilize the egg.

However please note that whilst cycle days differs for every woman conception is almost very positive on these days.

Also you could visit this website on a monthly basis to calculate your ovulation day. 'pregnancy.com' or 'gettingpregnant.com'

Best regards

okay yo may think i'm too young to know but i'm just really clever, you should do the test about 3-5 days after having sex and i was taught in school about periods and how they work strange but true. 7 or 14days, i can't remember, after you have had your period you should have sex because that is when the egg is fully developed into an eggs and starts travelling down to the vigina. hope i helped

I use a site called my monthly cycles. (link below) I compared it to mnay others, such as fertility friend and found it to be the best one, and far more user friendly than the others.

I'd reccomend a site like this, as each womans cycle is different in length. Using a site like this will help you detrmine when you'll be expected to ovulate for your cycle length.

You can set up email reminders, so that they email you and remind you to input new data as and when required. - Its very well tailer made to suit the individuals needs.

the best time to have intercourse is around 14 days after the first day of your period (ovulation occurs around this time). The best time to test for pregnancy is 28 days after the first day of your period. Good luck xxx
