It seems to me like it should be possible to understand how the universe works without the need for experimentation. Is there a way to use logic and mathematics to unravel how the universe operates at a fundamental level?
Here is my argument. Is there anything wrong with it?

1. I think (assumption)
2. I exist (based on 1)
3. The universe consists of all objects and phenomena. (definition of universe)
4. I am part of the universe and the universe exists, although I might be the only member. (based on 2 and 3)
5. Fundamental physical laws govern how the universe operates. (assumption)
6. It is impossible to know if my experiences are real or imagined. (assumption)
7. Therefore, the only thing that I can know about the fundamental laws of the universe, are that they form myself. (based on 4, 5 and 6)

Well, this is a little like the way scientists think - unless we can directly 'see' something (ie. we experience it happening) we can't assume that it is necessarily true.

My problem with your conclusions is with the point 6, and your logical jump from this to 7. Yes, the entire universe might be a product of your subconscious, but it's still the universe and it still appears to obeying fundamental physical laws (5). So, even if the universe, and your experiences of it, are imagined, you can still study it and determine those fundamental laws.

I have no complaints. However, you must keep in mind that your theory is fundamentally based on assumptions and definitions, and therefore is more a theory about you than about the universe.

Yes, it is. and yes, again. the third question seems more like spiritualism, however - they are vallad points. : )
