In the cartoon, "Peanuts", Snoopy is portrayed as male, exactly what is Woodstock?

Poor Woodstock has some trouble with sexuality, from time to time has been portrayed as a secretary during the early years, but show to do other masculine interests like going to camp to become a "majestic eagle" on other occassions. My bros are going to drive me nuts on this one, any help?

I always got the impression W was male.

Just a few side rambling notes:

SECRETARY - before it became a female-dominated occupation, the position of secretary was a job held by men. Today that position is more commonly called admin assistant.

CAMPING - this is not limited to males in any way. I have been a camper since I could walk, and I'm over 50 ... In fact, my niece is a wilderness camp counselor who also snowboards, ww rafts, sea kayaks, skiis, and all that heavy sport stuff - she's also a dancer, drop dead gorgeous and brilliant to boot.

So what about those pastel guys with the tv sets in their tummies?

I don't think Snoopy was ever technically portrayed as a male, either. Both were pretty much treated asexually.

And since when is camping purely a masculine interest? My sister has climbed more mountains then I'll ever have.
