All these are datums for the purpose of estimating location of a point on the surface. These are actually estimates of the location of the center of the Earth's spheroids. There are hundreds of datums in use at present, each geographic location prefers a different one. Maps of every country follow the unique standardised version and therefore maynot fit one to one with maps of neighbouring areas following different datum. Some larger countries follow more than one datum as well.

they are reference points or datums for measurement systems
RSO being for height measurements
CSS being for transverse mercator projections
WGS84 being for LAT/LON coordinates - 84 representing 1984

There is one for astronomy also called an Equinox (date)

using an outdated datum will introduce errors in your results
