my water in my fish tank is all blue now, can i still feed the fish normally?
and when i do a water change, when i throw out the old blue water, is it safe to pour down the sink??
And is it safe for my fish if i added some aquarium salt to the tank? eventhough it has methylene blue in it?

My mum says to dump it in the toilet too, coz its not turned to drinking water, but wouldn't it stain the toilet and the water in the toilet?

1. When you medicate your tank with MB you can still continue to feed your fish normally.

2. Because the MB is already diluted ( if you follow the recommended dosage ) it shouldn't stain your basin or toilet bowl or it isn't gonna be something a good rinse wouldn't remove.

IMPORTANT!

If you read the caution message on the box, it should say somewhere that MB will kill the good bacteria in your tank. You have to remember to do a cycle or else you will suffer ammonia related problems.

Jon V is right, I am sorry I wasn't more precise. Due to your application of MB in your tank, your resident population of bacteria in your tank that helps manage your fish waste (preventing them from getting too toxic for your fishes) have probably been wipe out. This happens to many people who isn't careful in reading the cautionary advise on the MB medication documentation. In effect your tank becomes like a new tank.

I have attached a links that explains in simple term about New Tank Syndrome. http://www.totallyfish.com/reference/newtank.shtml And as recommended by Jon V, your best bet is to see if you can salvage some bacteria from your old filter media or another established tank to see if you could jump start the cycling process. Do not buy any solution that claims to help you boost or speed up your cycling process (as in the linked article) it doesn't work. Will explain if you're interested to know why.

What SG is talking about is that the MB has basically killed off your beneficial bacteria that is in your tank. Bacteria colonies grow in your filter media and in your gravel as well that oxidize dangerous nitrogen compounds that are produced in a tank enviroment by fish. MB is an anti biotic and destroys pretty much any type of bacteria in your water, thus killing off the two strains, nitrosomma, and nitrobaciters bacteria that you had in your tank to keep the water clear of ammonia and nitrite, so your fish would be safe. This is what you call the nitrogen cycle, and the process takes about 2 months or so. If you have another tank, as soon as you begin to change out the water and put your activated carbon in, use some of the media from an estabished filter or gravel from an older tank to help re introduce the bacteria you need to keep the nitrogen cycle process going. If you need further assistance, you can also use the link on my profile and get great assistance there.

The blue tint is suppose to go away within a day or so. If not, your filter will get rid of it when you put it back in. It is safe to pour down the drain. 50% water changes are safer than doing a complete water change, but you are really only suppose to do 20 to 25% water changes. If your aquarium is fully cycled, the water should only need a little fresh water every week or so. If you have plants you can change the water monthly.

Sure you feed your fish just as you would usually
yes it's safe to pour it down the sink, put I personally rather dump it into my toilet
I hope you know that you only want to do a partial waterchange of 50% with a gravelsiphon as well and not the whole tank
As long as you didn't put to much aquarium salt, your fish are going to be fine

Hope that helps
Good luck

Um.......what exactly is wrong with your fish? It's best to not use more than one medication at a time. And if you have plants, you ought to take them out and just leave them in a bucket or something with water since methylene blue+salt = plant raper.
