I have 2 GB sticks of G-Skill dual channel ddr2 800 RAM (5-5-5-15). 1 GB stick of Patriot ddr2 800 RAM. The setup is as follows:
Slot 0 (yellow): G-Skill
Slot 0 (black): Patriot
Slot 1 (yellow): G-Skill
Slot 1 (black): empty
It says it's not running dual channel. Do I have to change BIOS settings? If so, how?

To run in dual channel you have to have matching pairs. The Yellow slots have matching pairs, but the black slots don't, hence no go on the dual channel. No BIOS settings to change, you can't get those three sticks to run in dual channel. You have several options, but all require a change of hardware. You can either take out the Patriot and have 2GB in dual channel, or you can buy another Patriot for the last slot and have 4GB in dual channel. Or if you really want 3GB, you can buy a pair of 512s and put them in the black slots. Any of these options will work, but the three sticks you have will not run in dual channel, no way, no how.

if you got more than 2 slots on your motherboard, then you can run dual channel support. plus your motherboard must be able to support dual channel. to do this, 1-2-3-4 slot. put it in slot 1-3. then put the rest in slot 2-4. that will help you optimize your dual channel. you are running on a dual channel memory but you are missing 1 more ram.
