I got my first (and my last!) birth control shot in february and I haven't had a normal period since. For me that's 6-7 days of moderate bleeding. I just get discharge and lite bleeding here and there. Anyone else had this problem?

I had HORRIBLE side affects I would NEVER EVER recommend this to anyone!

I gained a lot of weight (and NO it was not an increased appetite, I ate the same as I did not on the shot, I didn't gain weight till I got on the shot), had horrible mood swings, spotted at the oddest times, had a loss of libido, etc.

MANY women have these problems, I'm appalled its still being administered.

I had my first AND last shot back in February as well. I bled for almost two months off and on. I will never take the shot again. Get off of it while you can. The shot can take up to 6 months to get out of your system. My period has been a little crazy. After I started the YAz pill in May, I bled for a month, then it stopped and came back in the middle of june and bled for about 6 days. THe more time goes by, the more normal your periods will ge. It takes time for Depo to leave the system completely.

i was on depo for about 2 years and it really messed my body up a lot. i had the same problem and then some but then i went on the pill and it really helped straighten things out. 14 and a half months ago i had a daughter and it was because i got off depo and to the pill, then my husband and i decided to have a baby. it should get better over the next couple of months but talk to your doc and see what they say and what they can do to help.

When I stopped taking Depo Provera...

Last injection (and second injection) in November... Its now the beginning of August, and my menstrual cycle is not back to "normal"

Depo Provera manufacturer does state somewhere that it can take up to a year for menstrual cycles to resume whatever they once normally were.

Good luck, and know that you're not alone in this.

Yes, I had to go on the pill to regulate my periods.

That's what's supposed to happen. Either your periods will be non-existant or they will be "light" like you described.
