Personally I loove that name...it has a sound to it that in my mind makes me think of someone who will be strong...you get a sense of pride from its strength...
Also its unique quality is something u wont have to worry about in the coming years...Studies have already shown that baby names between now and 2015 are gonna start to change a lot....people will be incorperating multi-lingual and multi-cultural names into families....not only is rarity prised in baby names....but meaning and origin....
Xavier is an awsome name dont worry :D
BTW its origin is typically Basque and means New house....which ironically can mean change...and a shift in power!! how awsome is that....good luck

I think that's a great name! I've always been an advocate of unique names... I think having a name that no one else in the world has makes a kid really feel special and an individual growing up (I should know, I'm the only Zac Pensol in the world [that I know of - and I've done my research]). But all this is assuming you have a somewhat unique last name too.
But, that's not the point, the point is, I think Xavier is a wonderful name. If you're too worried, maybe give him a more "normal" middle name, so he could go by that if he were so inclined.
Oh, and congratulations!

Xavier is a nice name, but honestly in my opinion anyway...it is an overdone name now a days. The last 6 Hispanic friends and family members that had boys named their kids Xavier as the first or middle name.
I would say pick something different.
There are a few that i love but am curious as to what other names you have in mind.

I'm from the seychelles islands and Xavier is a very popular name amongst the males. I myself like it. If you feel comfortable with the name and so does your partner go with it. Here in australia, there have been people calling there children names like, tears, sweet anne surname sower, wayne surnmae ker, ben surname deasy etc etc one on the news is 4real, so yeah xavier is perfectly normal

I personally would not use Xavier, but that is just me. I don't see anything wrong with you wanting to use it...I would think it would be difficult to find a middle name that flows.

Yes that's a fairly nice name and a little more rare than other male names. Maybe Jackson or Anthony is a better choice?
