My wife is Japanese and she is interested in going to nursing school. She speaks English so Im certain she will be able to understand the lectures. However, Im not so sure she can understand the reading material. Can she get the reading material in japanese. Or perhaps even the test?

Not usually at an American university. Occasionally a popular textbook might have been published in multiple languages, but getting them can be difficult (I had this problem a couple of years ago. I hired someone to teach a section of the basic course in my department in Spanish. The same book we use had actually been translated into Spanish; I found it on the internet. So I ordered it, and two days before the class was due to start, I was told by the bookstore that they had been unable to get the Spanish version of the book, so they had bought the English version instead!). Even if some books exist in Japanese, most won't, and certainly it seems unlikely that all of the teachers would speak enough Japanese to be able to translate their tests into that language, even if they wanted to.

Spanish YES, Japanese, you may need to find a local private lesson or teacher. I am in Central Florida, and a Japanese who attended University in America. I have been to Miami, depend on which college you are going to, your Japanese class may be very limited. But yes, you can be flexible WHERE you learn your language at. I wish we lived close from each other, I would be your language teacher. I am actually thinking of applying at local college to teach Japanese language, but was not sure if there would be much demand. So, other alternative was to place an ad for private lesson. I am sure you can find a good Japanese language teacher in Miami, please be careful and check their credentials.
