My boyfriend and I have been thinking about having sex for a while, and this'll be my first time. This is gonna sound really stupid, but I figure it's better to be safe than sorry... When I go back to the gynecologist, wil there be any chance she'll now? Will it be obvious? I know my hyman will break, will she see that? Will there be any other giveaways? I just don't want anything to get back to my parents, is all... Can someone help me?

No. Unless it's just before the appointment and you still can smell the condom or sperm... etc. Or if there's any bruising on your vaginal walls.

Your hymen can break even before you have sex if your physically active, riding bikes, exercise...etc.

Things between your doctor and you are confidential. Unless you are in danger (or maybe not even), they can't tell your parents without your consent.

It's like this because otherwise a lot of people otherwise would feel like they needed to lie to their doctor about things that are vital to the doctor's understanding of your health and how they should treat you.

She will probably be able to tell to an extent. Like she may suspect you have but not be sure. The only way she can know 100% for sure though is if you tell her. It will be easier for her (or him, look at me making assumptions here) to tell if she's been examining your body for years. Even then though, she can't be sure unless you make it known to her.

Have you had a pap smear yet?

Are you on birth control?

Do you have condoms?

How old is HE?

Unless you've had sex within two days of seeing the gyno again, your doctor would not be able to tell.

There are MANY others ways a hymen could break.

girl...i know exactly what you're going through, but, do you use tampons? if you do, then your hymen will have already broken so it'll make no difference. i've been sexually active behind my parents back for a while now, i've only gone in once to the doctors to get birth control i never used, and it's a patient/ doctor confidentiality, which means they aren't allowed to tell your parents, it's the law.....

Since it's not necessary for you to have sex in order to break your hymen (you can have it broken by horseback riding, gymnastics, etc. etc.), I'm pretty sure your gyno won't be able to tel if you've had sex or not. Even if she did she wouldn't be able to tell your parents cuz of that confidenciality thing.

Yes, it is likely that your hymen will break and she will probably notice that it is not intact, but a girl's hymen can break from stupid things like using tampons or excessive bike riding, so she really has no proof. And if for some reason she suspects that you are sexually active, it is illegal for her to discuss it with your parents. As long as your boyfriend knows that he has no STD's and you guys use proper protection like a condom, you'll be okay. Go have fun!

Your GYN cannot tell because he/she cannot break confidentiality. Be sure you are on some sort of birth control and insist he use condoms each time you have intercourse.

Of course she will be able to tell that you are no longer a virgin. If you are under age she is required to tell your parents, there is no confidentiality for minors.
