It is un-American to have zero faith in the Iraqi government.
If they did what GWB wants them to do, the Americans may succeed in Iraq.
Imagine that. That would mean America would believe that it is alright to invade defenseless countries, kill hundred of thousands, displaced 10 to 15% of their population, spend billions and billions in each affair and create al Queda in each of those countries.
We the people of course are the ones to pay for those adventures. In the meantime we would have no health care improvement, our infrastructure continue to decay and our military continue to break.
So, for the good of America, the government of Iraq should not cooperate with GWB, that way america may fail and we the people will do better.

It's not. The Iraqi government, what's left of it since the Sunnis left it, is a sorry excuse for a governing body. Clearly this was not taken into account pre-invasion by this adminstration.

You mean the govt that keeps losing large blocks of people who keep walking out of the parliament?

You mean the govt that is 40% less capable of defending itself than it was 6 months ago (based on US military statistics)?

You mean the govt that met ZERO of its agreed milestones -- a number later changed to "8 of 18" by changing the standard from "met" to "showing satisfactory progress"?

Why shouldn't we have faith in them -- they've been remarkably consistent over the past 3 years....

Because everyone in America loves a vacation, and the entire Iraqi central government went on vacation this month while their country is going to hell in a handbasket.

The Iraqi puppet government only survives with the massive backing of the US and it's military. How could you have faith in such a setup? Don't forget to take them with you when you eventually withdraw or you will have their blood on your hands also. I am ashamed of Australia's involvement in this shambles, but fully support their efforts in Afghanistan, and would like to see them become involved in Darfur. We should support all countries in their hour of need but not go in with the purpose of imposing our will on them or exploiting them.

Because G. Bush said so. And if you disagree. He will strip you of everything, including your citizenship.

It's not. There is a difference between not supporting our nations efforts in wartime and having doubts about just how well those efforts are going.

Its not. But I disagree with politicians proclaiming loudly that withdrawal NOW is our only option.
That puts our people in Iraq at more risk than they already are under, and is unneccessary.
