Yes, so he can't run unless the Constitution is amended, which will never happen.

It is a requirement to be a natural born citizen of the United States in order to run for President.
But hey, these days we're playing in a whole new ball field where up is down and down is up and what's right is wrong and the other way around.
With enough money and influence anything is possible.
And if the puppet can find the right special interest groups to launch him towards the Presidency why I don't think a little thing like the the Constitution will stop him.
We are living in a day where everything is not what it appears and dirty dealings is how business is conducted.
I don't think the Constitution will stop Arnie from becoming President especially since I feel we've already lost America and all hope of ever getting her back is wasted.

I assume it wouldn't be? Isn't the USA a nation of immmigrants? You'd just have to be a current citizen wouldn't you?

I do find it funny though, no-one with that accent would ever get into elected office in the USofA unless they had been in movies.

Edit: WHAT? you're kidding!?! (I just read all the other answers) i'm not too worried about Arnie specifically, i don't trust actors (though i do like him supporting stem-cell research unless i'm confusing him with someone else?, e-mail me to correct me if i'm wrong). BUT DOESN'T THAT CUT OUT HALF THE COUNTRY?!? How the hell is that democracy if a huge chunck of the citizens can never be the leader?

By the way, that would be: "If t-hey umend t-he constituuution zo Arnold can run it Vill be funniest camp-pain efer."

Yes that is a requirement, it was put in place when the country was founded to avoid a foreign born leader (British) to rule as a pseudo-puppet of another country's leader.

But, If the changed the ammendment, I don't think the Republicans will:
1. Arnold is to moderate (on environment, immigration, guns, abortion) for the right wingers
2. The man can barely speak english, and I'm glad he isn't my governer because I've heard the man speak some German while speaking English (Und instead of and...)
3. Arnold isn't a good debater, like Reagan he is a moderately good actor, so he is good for the cameras, but if you put that man on Meet the Press or Hardball or any show in which he has to think on his feet without pre-read questions, he would be torn apart by any fellow Republican with Senate experience let alone a Democrat that fact checks

4. He has gross hangy skin from all those steroids and sex!!!

EWWW!!!

Under the current constitution it is a requirement to be born in the United States, or have been born of American Parents in US territory. The constitution is very unlikely to change because congress needs to pass a bill with a super majority (67%) in order to pass it.

He doesn't want to run for president. He has repeatedly said so. Hey, he can barely handle the governorship. And in the current anti-immigrant climate, there is no way the Constitution is going to be amended anyway.

That's what I hear and I beg you...please don't even think about petitioning to change the Constitution to make is possible. I think, right about now, he is somewhere soliciting money that he says he doesn't need. The best acting job he's ever done is this one...as Governor of California.

Yes, however Republicans would back an amendment so Arnold could run, and Democrats would back it because it has, (yes I used present tense, this has already been discussed in some quarters) a lot of support among Hispanics.
