Usually you apply for a license a couple weeks before the planned date. Bring in some ID, your birth certificate, papers showing your previous marriage (if any) ended in divorce, or the death certificate if you're a widow/widower. The cost varies from state to state, as does the time limit, so you need to call the courthouse and inquire. You make an appointment for an official, then you both show up at that time (with whomever you wish to have witness the event--you need to have at least two) and he/she will then ask the standard questions about do you take this person, love and cherish, sickness and health. Then you exchange rings, if you choose to do so, the official declares you married, and you pay up. Signing the certificate finishes the event. Then you go and party.

Call the court house and ask them.

I'm pretty sure it's the cheapest way to get married.
