I have a Dell 2400 my fan went out and I am depertaly trying to find another one to replace it. I have tried to find one on the net but having no luck. it measures 4 inches but all the fans i have found are in mm. the number on the fan is a 9025 12v if that means anything.

I believe Dell fans are proprietary, therefore it is doubtful that you would be able to find one online unless it is from an authorized Dell parts distributor. I suggest that you contact Dell customer service and see if they can help.

Also, I am unclear as to which fan you are having trouble with. Is it the heatsink fan on top of the processor or is it the exhaust fan that ventilates the entire case?

That could be a 92mm fan. Measure it carefully. Some good fans here:

Take the fan into an electronics parts store near you. They will be glad to help you

Order a new one from dell!
