Do you realize how stupid your question and commentary are? It's ridiculous that you just blame such things on the "other" party. Please be more mature and do a little more research before jumping to conclusions.

Maybe you should do some research before you ask a question.
From 1993 to 2001 the average federal budget for the Federal Bridge Program was 2.5 billion dollars.
From 2002 to 2007, the average Federal budget for the Federal Bridge Program is 4.3 billion dollars.
That's a 72% increase in Federal Bridge repair funds under the Bush administration.
So maybe you should be asking, why the Clinton administration refused to adequately fund Bridge Repair in America.

I live in Minn. and work for the design/survey/inspection department of a rural county. We are having trouble getting funding to replace roads and bridges. For us, it is not crucial yet, but we are seeing projects that would normally be done (bridges and roads) in 2 years being pushed out to 8 years. We still do the preliminary work and prepare contract documents...and crucial things are being done, but the brunt of the cost is being borne by the county and townships with bonds (borrowing money). We have hundreds of miles of roads and 100 small bridges...but I can imagine the pressure put on Minneapolis highways is a lot greater....The problem is that people are actually using less fuel (the fuel taxes fund construction) and the costs are rising because of the fuel and oil required to build things have=ve gone way up in the past 4 years......so much for the great Republican way

Roads are handled by state and local government although they do rely on federal highway funds in some cases. However, I would challenge you to present evidence of your claims because where I live we have very decent roads and plenty of construction occurring. As for gas prices, other than the amount of taxation on a gallon of gas, the government does not control the price. Personally, I am fed up with the oil companies in this area, but blaming the government for the price denies who the real culprits are.

Yeah..! Not only that, how 'bout the huge increase in diaper rash among infants since the Republicans won the White House. Then there are the brown spots in my lawn that everyone knows are caused by a Republican conspiracy. And don't forget the indigestion my neighbor had last night. Obviously another slick trick by the Republicans.
I'm voting a full Democratic ticket from now on 'cause they know exactly how to turn this country around and cure any and all ills. Hilarious Hillary for pres, Alky Al for vp, and his druggy kid for Secretary of State.

Each individual state is in charge of their own bridge repairs! Not the federal government! If they did it , our taxes would be higher!
I agree, too much of our money is leaving the country to Iraq, shh though, and don't say that too loud, or they'll say you are unpatriotic!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the roads and bridges are paid for and maintained by your state, usually with gas taxes or vehicle excise taxes. It has nothing do with the military budget. So my advice would be to buy an expensive SUV and drive it as much as possible so the Democrats in your state will have plenty of money to fix your roads.

Don't forget Medicaid, Medicare, and Welfare waste. Also, history has proven that once the morals of a society get lax, that society will shortly tumble.

Because they are wasting all their money by sending it to churchs instead of fixing the roads.
