In Indiana, neither the Indiana Law code numbers or court docket id numbers are 4 digit numbers, so I have no idea what that number would refer to. If the child is not his, he would not be awarded custody. If your friend is being harassed, she should call the Police, make a report, and take the advice they give her. You "paying him a visit" will likely only land you in jail, which won't help your friend.
Hopefully she will make better choices from now on.

Have to agree, have never hear of #1233 in Indiana and it doesn't sound like a valid case number; however....

She needs to consult with an attorney and have the existing child DNA tested to prove that it is not his (if it is proved to be his, she can seek child support) and then test for the one she is now carrying once it is born. If he has been CONVICTED on drug charges, she could seek, at minimum, supervised visits or no visitation.

If she is on welfare already, she should contact her caseworker who could arrange help through legal aid if he is threatening her in any way.

If you are her new boyfriend and pay him a visit and a physical altercation ensues, you could be convicted criminally and civilally and end up being barred from having any contact with the children and possibly her her, if she is a good mother and picks her children over you.

As hard as it might be to be emotionally stable in this situation, it is all the more reason that you should be.

Pretty sure that #1233 isn't a proper citation for anything. But, I'm sure that there are cases where custody has been awarded to a non-biological parent over biological one under certain circumstances. Really, a court in a custody dispute will look at both parties to determine who will be the better parent. If this guy is a total lowlife then she probably has nothing to worry about. Only a court will be able to resolve such a dispute.

You risk legal trouble if you pay him a visit, but it's worth a try if you are willing to take the chance. Although, if you truly believe he has already employed an attorney this is probably a bad idea. It wouldn't take much for him to call the same guy in with the intention of slapping you with a lawsuit for anything associated with your "little visit." It's great that you are trying to help, just be careful not to sabotage the woman by giving the other guy ammo to use against her in court. It might appear that she convinced you to "go and see him" about it, which makes her look bad.
