I think you have to find meaning. To me it doing things I enjoy, building good relationships, and doing some good in the world, helping someone or an animal or nature. It nature that we are born may breed but definitely die, its a wonderful thing, the alternative would be some Baron planet like mars.

We can only have real meaning in our life when we live for the real purpose for which we were created. By definition, there has to be a Creator/God in order for us to have real purpose.
“Unless you assume a God, the question of life’s purpose is meaningless.” –Bertrand Russell (20th century philosopher, mathematician and Nobel Laureate)
If there is no Creator, then nothing is a purpose including living and dying and breeding. For evolution is a mindless process like weather so evolution can no more give us purpose than a snowstorm can give purpose to a snowflake.
If you are just looking for a feeling and not real meaning, then there are a number of things you can do to make you feel good about yourself (self esteem). "live every day to the fullest" or "help in a homeless shelter" are examples of ways to make yourself feel better.
If our Creator does exist, then there is no need to guess what our real purpose is. Our purpose is to seek God. It is like seeking the designer of a new invention to ask the inventor the purpose. He would know. Finding God is infinitely more valuable than anything I can imagine.

Some believe the reason we live is to affect the world around us and make the most of our existence. The best ways to do this are reproduce and spread our genes. Besides that, you should live your life to the fullest and try to make a difference.
We do things for ourselves because we want to extend our lifespan, but the real reason we live is for others. That's my take on it at least.

for me, we don't die until we die. we live and find our own purpose whether that purpose is to provide urself all the happiness u want or to provide others the happiness u can't give to urself. when we are born, people attach themselves to u(emotionally etc.) then as we learn things, we learn how to attach ourselves to others, when that happens, we start to seek for a purpose of our existense. the meaning of life is never given or pre-determined at birth. we choose it. we choose the meaning for our own life and do all we can to achieve that sense that we fulfulled our purpose. because we always have a choice, we live as we want, remembered as we want, and die as we want.

Survival of the species, we're just intelligent mayflies.. anything that is 'alive' will die at some point.. evolution, nature, you name it..
just the fact that we can comprehend what, where and who we are doesn't mean that there has to be a purpose to it.

we are born to live the life that has been mapped out for us, we have no control over it. Our purpose is to enjoy it and when our time is up, we can look back with a smile on our face and say to ourselves here's to the new beginning.

It's the law of nature: everything that lives must die.
As for your cells, for example. Every cell contains its "suicide gene" -otherwise or if made inactive by pollution for ex. you would get the big C in no time.
So, "carpe diem" and forget about morbid ideas.
P.S. Why fear death ? While you are there it is not there, and when it is there you are not there any more.

The purpose of life is to find our way back home to our creator in worshipng God to be the Son of God.
Living human kind after being born.
Has to be raise up in mastering our creator's universal gifts of life with one new universal language and one speech in mastering Merlin's magic wand like Harry Potter.
With time they grew up to be mankind of intelligent design in creating miracles and wonders for the good of mankind on planet earth.
Along the way they go forth and multiply for the survival and advancement of living human kind in finding their way back home to our creator on planet earth.
With blunders and slip-ups and human errors created back in the past.
Living human kind ended up living in misery in chasing the great American dreams of puff the magic dragon that turn into smokes and ashes getting themselves kick on the butts by our creator with "Say you say me" in not "Knowing me knowing you" on planet earth.
