I have a Compaq ij650 series model printer at home, and it has worked like any other great printer until one day, I wanted to print something out, but it did not. I tried turning it off and on, putting in new paper and ink, but it won't work. What I don't understand is that the paper light keeps blinking but, i already set the paper and pressed it, but none of the two buttons will work. Can anyone help me to make it function again?

Now however the on/off light stays lit(you CAN'T turn off printer) and the green button to the left of the on/off button just keeps blinking on and off every second. we shut down everything and turned off the power switch but as soon as we powered everything back up the printer light to left of the on/off button goes back to a constant blinking and clicking sound. When we lift the lid the cartridges do NOT move to the middle but stay on the right side.

Check to see if the printer is enabled, is accepting requests, the scheduler is running, and the device file is correct.

Make sure all print jobs are canceled before you try to print more. unplug the printer from the wall aswell as the computer and give it another go.
