It is a shame, they can't even cut through the smoke and see their own party for what it truly is.

Sageandscholar,

Naturally, and after 12 years of the Democrats criticizing us, why would I not? Did the Democrats try to "reason" with Republicans during that time? No, all they have done is belittle.

Go over to the DailyKos Kool-Aid site, and look how they have belittled our Great President, it's far worse than Republicans have ever done.

So, No I have no intention of trying to reason with you, since you 'can't'!!!!

coragryph,

I'll try, but I don't know "effective" it will be. They have to show a willingness on their part to think outside the box, before anything can be accomplished.

Thanks for the advice.

Irish Girl,

Yes, I agree, we have some that have very Liberal views. But not nearly as bad.

Andy G,

Just keep marching forward with Hope, and how do we do that? Through Jesus Christ and only Him.

Thanks.

The general ethos of the Leftist mind necessitates that you must resist restraining conservative impulses. Logic and reason are restraining impulses. Since modern liberalism is primarily a state of unrestrained emotional turbulence, the liberal must find reasons for excusing his most base emotional instincts and instead embrace the “liberation” that comes from not being able to summon reason to control impulses. Many consequently fall prey to the tempting natural impulse of letting emotion override logic and reason. The liberal creed dictates that feelings are more important than anything and that they shall hold court over reason.

You can reason with reasonable people. There are many Democrats you can reason with, just like there are many Republicans you can reason with. It is the the far right neo cons, and the far left liberals who are both to close minded that you can never have a debate with.

hmm, just too tempting to leave alone. What the hell do you mean anyhow? could be like me saying I just can't reason with women, or cats, or cars, or whatever. To suggest all democrats are alike is more a description of who you might be. Simple? I mean, I couldn't begin to imagine what your views are that would be SO unyielding, so completely set in stone and so without regard for others, that you can't find common ground with someone in the Democratic party. (hey, this isn't George Bush is it? ;)

Democrats are trying too, to reason with you, no? Too often there is no reason in politics. Or, you could always just agree completely, you'll get along fine.

Sageandscholar's got your number, that's for sure. I see no reasoning from you at all, and I appreciate the work that poster did to prove it.

Nice work Sageandscholar!

You have to play on their emotions. Liberals and democrats are ultra sensitive people who are easily swayed by having their emotions toyed with.

Perhaps you are not using effective methods.
Perhaps you are not supporting your arguments with facts and logical analysis.
Perhaps you are trying to convince individuals who are closed-minded.

And perhaps if you stopped trying to lump all Democrats together and assume they all think the same you might have more luck.

I've had the same problem. But there are some pretty bullheaded Republicans out there too...you have to be fair.

Maybe you're only making excuses for "reasons..."-and those fail all the time.
