I went for a week once when I was 10, and once when I was 11. Both times I didn't want to go, but although I missed home, I had alot of fun, made new friends, and a part of me didn't want to leave on the last day. Those are some of my most vivid memories of those summers. Canoeing, learning to shoot a gun, archery, hikes, a crush on a girl, sleeping in a log cabin, great outdoors in the mountains, and nice people and counselors. and the trip was 8 hours long there and back, with vans filled with us kids joking around and listening to music. Some of the music back then still reminds me of that time.

Yes I sent her to camp for a week she has been going to the same camp for the past 7 years she enjoys it and wants to go. I would not make her go if she didn't want to. Edit- It was a sleepaway camp. The first year I was very nervous because it was the first time she was gone for that long of a period - she did fine.

No! I came from a little hick town in OK, and I used to read all these books about kids going to summer camp, and that was, like, unheard of there! I remember bugging my mom, I want to go to summer camp! And this was something she was unfamiliar with too. Bless her heart, she did look into it (sort of), but couldn't come up with anything within our area or budget.

Yeah, I went to YMCA Camp Earl-Anna when I was a kid. It sucked. The only good thing about it was that was where I kissed a girl for the first time. A hot girl too...and it was a french kiss.

I never went when I was a kid. They had nothing like that in our area. Not even for Girl Scouts! Go figure... Now, that I am a Cub Scout Leader, I did camp this summer. I had a blast! Thanks for asking!
I hope you end up having a most fun - filled time! Enjoy! =)

Yes I did. I was sent to a multitude of basketball and baseball camps.
I also went to some wilderness camps with my brothers.
I have to say, that at the time, they didn't always seem like fun, but they always are now when I look back on them.
