Well, for one thing, military parents who disagree with her don't make quite as much noise. Of course if they agree with offering their children's lives for the mendacious propaganda regurgitated incessantly by the Bush administration, why should they make any noise? They'd rather BELIEVE this garbage and send their children to have their arms and legs blown off 12,000 miles away.

The truth is that Cindy Sheehan is exercising her rights as an American. How she does that is up to her. Whether you agree with her or not, you have to admit that lady has a lot of guts. I admire her for that, for the fact that she's an American that thinks the last 6 years of stupidity are a crime and that she isn't afraid to tell the parasites in DC, the nation and the world that young men and women dying in Iraq is the ultimate consequence of the agenda of the group of criminals in power. Without the Cindy Sheehans of the world, none of us would have the freedoms we enjoy.

That being said, Patriotism is about supporting the country, not politicians. The American soldier is a tool. Always will be. When a man or a woman signs on for military service, they give up a portion of their freedom and their life for whatever political agenda is being pushed at that moment in history. Simple as that. Cindy sounds like she supported that ideal at one point but when it hit home she realized (too late) the poison of propaganda and how it cost her a son. I feel sorry for her, but at least she realizes it and has brought it to the attention of a lot of people.

It's interesting how people who support this administration's use of young lives to do their bidding hide their humanity behind patriotism, as if to say, "no matter what, I'm going to suppress my own ability to reason and be critical so that I can tout that my son or daughter is fighting to save America, after all, if I disagree with any of it, I'm basically disowning my child" when I suspect that many of them know, deep inside, that their president is a moron and he, and those within his circle, who REFUSE to testify about anything under oath, have killed their children and millions of other innocents. It's a tough situation to be in, but that is a curse of there being a power structure in the US that is so far off the path that our forefathers set.

The nation needs a military to defend itself and its freedoms. It is honorable and right to serve the nation and that ideal. But Iraq is not part of that equation. Neither was Korea, Vietnam or the 1st Iraq campaign. They were all based on lies and $$$. Our soldiers in Iraq are defending the lies and $$$ (oil and the military-industrial complex) that is driving the Bush Administrations policies. If you think otherwise, then in my opinion, you've had a LOT of Koolaide and should switch to water.

Bring The Troops Home NOW

I guess the squeaky wheel really does get the grease!!!!
I do not personally back her as at this time the young men and women volunteering to serve our country made that decision to do so out of their own choice and don't get me wrong i have the utmost respect and admiration for each and everyone that is out there whether across seas or here in the us serving our country so that i along with my children have freedoms!!!
For decades soldiers have been injured and killed and everyone in the military and serving knows that could be the fate of each one on duty and again i respect them for continuing to sign up and fight for our country ( many, many years ago they were drafted of course)!!!
I know she is devasted by her sons death as well as the many other soldiers families who have dealt with a death of their loved one serving our country.
I come from a military family and have had several generations serving as well as family killed on duty and i just wonder if her son would support her starting conflict surrounding the military that he signed up and wanted to be a part of and serve our country , she offends me and makes me feel she is not supporting our military men & women who have again "chose to support and protect you,me and her!!!!
just my opinion!!!!

Because she is a story, entertainment, and ratings. The parents of the soldiers who are fighting so she can be free to say what she wants
are not. They are old news.
Yes her son was one of the soldiers, he gave his life and now she wants justice for his decision to
fight. I do not think he would want her to act in the
manner that she has been, but all moms want their
babies healthy, happy and safe. When that does not happen the blame game starts.

Becuase we love the village idiot. That is why more americans watch ET than real news on a nightly basis. It is the mantra of a liberal. Find a human interest-woman loses son and goes after the president-and runs with it. She now is a hero to some, and we forget what she is really doing, which is nothing. Nothing worth while, she flipping knows that the army is all volunteer, and everyone knows the risk of signing up. I don't give a damn about her, and hope she quits this parade soon. Pay more attention to the real soldiers, not the nut jobs. Thanks news media.

The majority of the media leans left. Therefore, they'd much rather report on causes close to their beliefs--like CIndy Sheehan.
They disagree with the military parents who support their kids in combat, so they don't cover them more than absolutely necessary.

The media has become a wing of the democrat party, I think after loosing the Florida vote count. Right now their aim is to do anything that might hurt Bush. If it helps Al Qaeda or hurts the nation, well that is not anything that cannot be repaired once they get rid of evil conservatives. I only wish I was just exaggerating to make a point.

Because the media has an agenda and hers is very close to it - those parents who disagree with her have an agenda that is different then our medias.

Because the mainstream media supports her view.

They also don't abuse the memory of their children to seek out media attention.
