Because they are very poor in every dimention of cricket

The reasons are explained below.

1) Lack of quality and techniques. Although the bowlers some times do a good job the batsmen fail miserably. Their footwork is not good. They also make poor decision while choosing shots. Most of the time batsmen get out due to their own mistakes.

2) Lack of self confidence and physical strength. Just watching the recent test against Sri lanka it seems they did not make an effort to stay in the crease. Looks like they surrendered even before the game started. Also some Bangladeshi Batsmen lack the physical strength and fitness which Batsmen like Shahid Afridi, Dhoni and Yuvraj have.

3) They are unwilling to learn from experience. Bangladesh team has played lot of test with elite teams like Australia,England, New Zealand etc but they have failed to learn good Batting technique from them. They made the same mistakes again and again. They lack the fighting spirit and patience.

4) Bad team selection committee. Players like Shariar nafees and Habibul Bashar failed to perform in the world cup. They should not be given the opportunities to play against India in the home series but the team management kept them in the team. Habibul failed miserably in the test against India. The team management should get rid of players that cannot perform and give chances to the new players. This would increase competition in the team and boost their overall performances.

I may summarize the problems beset with our cricketers in the following lines:

1. Lack of strong and determined leadership starting from Coach, Captain, Manager down to the Cricket Board Members.

2. Lack of Stamina in individual players to endure the physical and mental hardship associated with Test matches. Btw, they do reasonable well (for a young team) in ODIs.

3. Someone must tell them the difference between the Test and ODI in real sense by way of lots of training on and off the field.

4. High cost of cricket gears for a very lower per capita GDP earning nation in South Asia. We have about US$ 450 now as against $700 in Pakistan and $900 in India (I may be wrong slightly in these GDP figures).

5. Lack of available field where new generation of cricketers could get chance to practice in a landmass of 55,000 Sq. Mile of which 40 % remains either submerged in rain/flood waters and 30% are even not fit for walking, not to talk about preparing some sort of 'pitch' by clearing the weeds and levelling the grounds!

6. In general, there are no matches to pooling young cricketers the way India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka do in organizing their School level competition. We had a few short-lived attempts but due to inclement weather, continuous political agitations in the country from its inception in 1971 (those ended temporarily after 11th January 2007 changes).

So, in a nutshell, what we see is some kind of meteor coming from wildernesses who are performing when they are taken into the only available Sports School in Savar. In a nation of having 150 million people it is too inadequate to produce good players consistently with one training school, that is also beset with this or that problem.

Nevertheless, I am optimistic that the 'village level' aspiring boys and girls would one day find place in our national teams when the school at Savar and BCCB would organize a lots of school level cricket competition and there would be fund available to buy the sporting gears at school level.

They are inexperienced. They should play more test cricket to improve their capability to play test cricket. Most of the Bangladesh players are not more than 25 years old. They are still very young and there are lots of talented cricketers. Ashraful, Mortaza, Shahadat, Nafees, Razzaq, Tamim and Sakibul all are very impressive cricketers.

because their team lacks quality and depth
i mean there is not a single player in the team who has an average above 40 the backbone or the main batsmen dont even average in the high 30's most of the batsmen average in the 20's
u rnt going to win many matches with players like those
i know u have some promising players but none of them r consistent enough and r not good enough to play big innings in alien conditions

Because they still play test cricket the same way they play ODI. They are still fully matured to adapt to the requirements of test cricket.

they had improve a lot on the Odo's a lot, they are a very good
ODI side, but they have to improve their test cricket, fist their bat mans have to learn to play patients innings, long inning rather that trying to make big scores. facing more deliveries they will improve the test cricket.
