I think it was a spin-off or cousin to the care bears. The were mixed up animals. For example, there was a monkey with butterfly wings. This was in the 80's.....Shirttails and Smurfs were on at this time. Please help me!

It's not the Care Bear Cousins. I just looked up Playful Heart Monkey and there's no wings on him.
You're talking about The Wuzzles and the character Rhinokey (rhinoceros/monkey). He has wings!
