There are many different methods and books out there. Some suggestions; take a nice relaxing bath with lavender oil, just a little goes a long way. It is well known to help relax your muscles.

Deep, slow breathing. When you become aware of how you are breathing, you'll find when you are stressed, it becomes quite shallow. So, take some time to breathe slowly and deeply, that automatically begins to relax the body. Then notice what muscles seem tense...are shoulders hunched, jaw clenched, neck tight? One by one, deliberately relax them and move to the next muscle group that is tense. Take a nice walk for 20 minutes. Exercise makes endorphins in the brain come alive and that makes us feel good. Prayer/ meditation is very relaxing too and benefits your spiritual life.
