I feel for people that suffer unjustly. I know that this is natural, but I think it brings me down more than most people. I can close my eyes and try to imagine what they must be gong through. I want to just focus on my world and my problems, but then I feel like I'm doing them wrong somehow. What do you think? Am I losing it?

I do the same thing, I feel for people and animals that are suffering, like you I imagine the pain they are all going through, then every one tells me "You can't save the world!"
I realize there is so much each of us can do to help but if I don't worry or try to help someone or something worrying about the problem drives me crazy cause I feel I got no where. I then think okay I'll try to take care of my own problems but then I feel guilty.
I don't think you or I are losing it, we are sensitive people, and feel too much living in this crazy world! Our brains are like a computer too much memory and over loaded!
I guess one of the things we can do is try to cut down on reading or seeing horrible news stories for awhile, hopefully it will lift some of the weight off.
Good luck!

Look, I know that it's tough, and you feel for people, but you can't feel bad enough to help one person feel better. You can't make yourself poor enough to make one person rich. This can go on and on.

It took me years to discover what I already knew--that we are here to fullfil our own destinies, and whatever we're going thorugh is what's perfect for us to go through.

Huh? What's that?

It's okay to feel empathy for others, but not to the detriment of yourself. All you can do is work on yourself to make yourself better than you were yesterday (remember that it will STILL Mean you're no better [or worse] than anyone else). OTher people will take care of themselves--they always have, and they always will. Or they won't.

Running imaginary scenarios through your mind is a futile effort, and only serves to bring you down. It doesn't advance you in any way. We humans love to do that--it's part of what society sets up and expects of some people.

If you REALLY want to do something for people, kill off your EGO and be an example of what people can do. How do you kill off your ego? Read. Study. Meditate.

Read Eckhart Tollie, Wayne Dyer, Dan Millman, the Dali Lama, and others who have written on the subject. And start enjoying life!

I think you have compassion for people, and that is wonderful. If you read 2 Timothy 3:1-5..it tells about the critical times hard to deal with people would expirence. You seem like a good person.

In Greek mythology, the god Atlas carried the world on his shoulders.

Ayn Rand has written a book called "Atlas Shrugged"

It's a bit long, but it will help you shake a lot of crap out of your head.
