LMAO. I don't even have a TV, but I've been watching some live streaming coverage of it online 'cause I'm about 60 miles away from that bridge.
Anyway, it's just another crap thing that happened that the media will rag on for days and blow out of proportion. A minute ago, a reporter claimed that a counselor told her the young children in the school bus would probably be "traumatized" by this event (ridiculous). All of them were safe and suffered only minor injuries.
Six people died, which sucks. And I have no idea what will be recovered from the river. Oh, well. A hundred or hundreds of people probably died in the Middle East today. God is watching over us - but not really.
I'm going to watch a movie.

Television is part of the communications system of our country, not just entertainment. People who are providing medical and emergency care and the phone system is tied up with both valid calls and dozens of people trying to just ask "are you OK?" Watching TV coverage will give information to all of these who have no other method that works.
And the answer which includes the comment about the kids being "traumatized". I know how I feel when I spin out a car on ice, nothing happens and I walk away. You ride a bus with no seat belts into a wall that blocks the front door with a broken burning semi in front of you, jump 4 or more feet out the back door, walk on a steeply sloping road that is supposed to be level and climb 5-10-15 feet down from broken concrete to the ground and then you tell me "Oh, I'm fine, no trauma at all!!"

It is so terrible! I live close to it, it is VERY freaky, and it makes you question what we are driving on everyday! There was a bus loaded with kids coming home from a field trip. 2,000 of the bridge collapsed, the whole thing! With about 600 of it collapsing over the mississippi river of I-35W. Seven are dead so far and over 40 injured and six in critical condition, and being so close it really is freaky to know that anyone could have loved ones on that bridge. not all of the deaths on the bridge were from drowning, because only 1/3 of the whole bridge fell into the Mississippi.

Its very sad. I hope that they dont just give up and not look for anyone else cuz there could be people trapped in their cars in the vents of the bridge. But yet if you cant stand watching stuff that happens in the REAL WORLD then watch some thing else. I think YOU have the will power to change YOUR own t.v.
Sorry my opinion.

Change the channel if you don't like it. Some people are trying to locate their loved ones. It's not just a "broken bridge" - people are dead, it's a big deal.

I think you should probably change the channel, or stop watching tv and do something else. If its really that bad and disturbing to you, stop watching it.
I hate when people complain about whats on tv/radio. If you don't like it, no one is forcing you to watch it, TURN IT OFF.
