So i want to be a vet, but i'm not extremely good at math and science. i mean i'm not bad at them or anything, but some people have told me it would be extremely hard to be one because you have to be very good at math and science to pass some of the classes you have to take.

this sort of makes me re-think if that's what i want to be or not, even though i love animals and i would love to be one..i don't know if the stress from the school work would be worth it because i think you have to go for 4 yrs of regular college and then 4 of vetenary school? correct me if i'm wrong..

Unless you're doing research, you probably won't need a whole lot of math. You need to know the scientific method, and of course biology will be quite important. But you should be learning a lot about how animal bodies work, not just homo sapiens. Spend some time with some veterinarians and see what they actually do. If it seems like it comes natural to you, it may well be easier for you than for most people. By the sound of it, you would certainly be motivated. Also, keep an open mind. There are lots of other things you could do with animals. Working at the Monterey Bay Aquarium in California in any capacity would be cool.

Yes you are right, pulse there are not a whole lot of vet. programs out there. If you like animals you may want to look at jobs with non-profit groups that help animals. I mean you can get a 4 year degree in business or human relations and get a job with an organization that helps animals. Just play around on the web and look into companies or organizations for animals or animal rights groups. I would recommend not joining anything like PETA or some of the far out there groups but there are many others. I wish you the best of luck!! :)

you could start by being a vet technician, it's like an assistant of sorts. kind of like a nurse to a doctor.

see if you think you'll like it. there is lots of math and science and vet schools are very competitive to get into. being a vet tech first is great experience.

good luck!

yeah - it's four years of undergrad then four years of vet school.

And yes, a good veterinary school is very hard to get into. Some are actually harder to get into than most med schools.
