Philippines is located in South East Asia, thus they are Asians. Pacific Islander refers to people who belong to three major sub-regions of Oceania namely, Australia, New Zealand and New Guinea.

Technically, they're Asians. All Filipinos are Asians, but not all Asians are Pacific Islanders.

The general ethnicity of Filipinos would be mostly Malay, some Chinese, and a little Spanish.
