Give more of THEIR money in taxes
1) Invite the "indigent" to live with them
2) Pay health insurance premiums for those who "can't" afford it
3) Buy extra groceries to feed the hungry
4) Start a company and employee the unskilled, unmotivated, uneducated, unemployeed at excessively high wages

In other world, put your own stinking money where your mouth is if you believe in it so much

You got to be kidding. Most of those lamers aren't paying taxes. They're to busy spending other peoples money and too stupid to earn their own.

1. I have provided a temporary home for people that I know who are down and out.
2. I regularly donate food and money to the local food bank.
3.In addition to providing insurance for my family, I willingly pay my taxes. The inflated premiums and the out of pocket expenses I pay for medical care also ends up covering the costs for the people Bush says don't need coverage because they can just go to the emergency room.
4. Only a select few have the resources to start their own company. The rest of this suggestion is ridiculous and unworkable. Nobody supports paying excessively high wages to people who don't achieve (unless they are CEOs).Though I am a manager where I work, I believe and support collective bargaining as well as fairness and dignity for all workers.

I saw this shockingly when I worked for a school district. This was in a really poor neighborhood where kids were very below average.
A member of the faculty said in jest, why don't we put astroturf on the football field. Quess what they board took what he said for real and decided to do that, Because the state funding would pay for the whole thing. They said "we won't have to pay anything for it! The state will pay for the whole thing!" THe board voted to do this.
They convinced the stupid people in the town that it was free.

Where did the idiots think that "state" money was coming from. Our taxes.
Those poor kids can't read, but they can play on a great football field and look cool.

You are so right, we should all choose where our tax money goes individually. I bet you we wont spend as much on the military next year. In fact how about we turn this a bit and have anti-tax individuals

1)Pay for their own roads
2)Dig their own sewer lines
3)Build their own electrical grid
4)Inspect the safety of their food and medications

I find it hilarious that there is never enough money for social programs but always enough money for war.

Just forget that whole Preamble to the Constitution talking about , that whole WE THE PEOPLE, and not just providing for the Common defence, put also the general welfare.

Many of us do "put our money where our mouths are". I am for socialized medicine, limited welfare, food stamps, etc. I have two children who were adopted from the foster care system and were deemed "hard to adopt". I give 15% of my salary to charity, and I pay a large chunk of my income in taxes. I do all of this because I don't want to live in a country where we have one segment of the population who own private jets, have multi-million dollar homes, and take vacations to private islands, and another segment of the population who live in squalor, or in no home at all, who die from starvation or exposure, and who have no shot at getting an education or anything else that might help them pull themselves out of poverty. I work hard, and I was lucky to be born into a family who prioritized education, and who, in the generation before me, went from parents with an 8th grade education to 5 college graduates - three with post graduate degrees. Not everyone is as lucky as I am - and I can only hope that something I do, through charity, taxes, or even adoption, will mean ONE person will make a better life for himself or herself, and launch their own generation into a better life.

Isn't it funny how so many Dhimmis whined about the tax cuts, but you sure as hell didn't hear any of them DEMANDING to pay more.

And rich people DO pay a lot in taxes. How much is enough? 50%? 75%?

Statistics show that conservatives on average donate more to charity than liberals. That being said, I am all for wealth distribution, just as soon as hillary & bill empty their bank accounts and blind trusts, and give to the less fortunate, so that their total balance equals mine, and everyone elses....That would be"fair" wouldnt it?

They really believe that if health care becomes free, no body pays for it - including our government.

That wouldn't be "social spending" that would be donation. Two completely different ways of contributing to society.

And I think you meant "in other words," not "in other world."

A better question: Why don't people who are for massive military spending
1) Go to their local recruiting office
2) Volunteer to serve their country
3) Go to Iraq
4) Fight the war they so desperately love themselves

In other words, put your own butt on the line if you believe in it so much.

We are in debt because of this war, not welfare, genius.
