Oh my gosh...that describes my brother-in-law PERFECTLY!
The guy cannot hold down a job, but he knows EVERYTHING about every job he has ever had and is always their most loved and worshipped employee until "something" happens which results in his unemployment.

Yes, to a small degree. When a person gets confident, they stop double checking what they do and stop rethinking their actions. They could be come sloppier.
When a person is uncertain if they are doing something correctly, they double and triple check their work.
So in that sense, yes I agree. But I also think that this statement doesn't apply to all things.

Most competent people are honest and will allow you to see their weaknesses and learn from it.
You should be able to see through any false confidence.
I do find it hard to believe that a majority of people would have much confidence if they are aware of their own incompetence.
Ignorance does create false confidence.
I guess its up to you to be the judge. Person by person.
(Bush haters seem to be very confident!)

Those people that deal in people's minds are often the most troubled ones themselves. That makes no sense and, therefore, I deem it to be ridiculous. . .and you know it. This is just another theory that shows just how incompetant those two idiots must be. . .And they probably got paid for that bit of wisdom . . .Beware of psychology books. . .and journals. . . .

No, but I do believe that what you focus on expands. So if you focus on how great you are at this or that, instead of how to improve how you are doing this or that- that is what expands.
