My neighbor girl (about 18yrs old) came by like 3 out of 5 days to borrow cigs from me. Then a few days later she asked me if she could borrow &5.00 to give a friend gas money to take to get her paycheck & that she'd pay me back in like 20 minutes. I scrounged up $6 It's been like 5 days & I've seen her several times, but don't have the guts to ask if she has the money!! On one hand I keep telling myself it's only $6.00 & on the other hand I keep telling myself she was so friendly & talkative before & now she looks the other way & avoids me. Would you ask her for the money or just let it go?

First off never lend $$$ you cant afford to lose... i always use that as a test to see if a cat is trustworthy infact i leave $$$ laying around sometimes in a controled situation to see if theyll take it... but if yove seen her a few times and she hasnt payed you back she either A) doesnt have the $$$ or B) she doent wanna pay it back... next time you see her on the block her holla at her like this in a solid tone HEY YOU GOT THAT MONEY!!!, is she says no " WHEN U GONNA HAVE IT" and if she acts all flakey , shes a crackhead and aint gonna pay you ..

I would just give a friendly nod and say "Hey! It sure has been a long 20 minutes - were you going to pay me back that $5 or did you just forget?"

She didn't forget - but keep it friendly with words to this effect.

I say let it go but never give her money again..I think she may never ask you for money again if she has any common sense..

I don't understand why people do that. She could at least tell you, she does not have the money yet. That's just rude on her part.

unless you have a tree with money growing on it ask her for the money. obviously, she was only using you because you were generous to her and are probably a good person. she has proven she does not want to be friends with you. be an adult and ask for the money as many times as needed to get repaid. you will feel better about yourself if you stand up for yourself. best of luck with the situation. be brave.
