I was an NHL scout from the 60s to the 90s, and if I had a penny for every teenager playing for an 'A' team, or a Select team, or a Rep team who scored 120 goals or more................I'd be sitting on a beach with my wife in bali right now sipping on fancy coloured drinks with umbrellas in it.

Every team in North America has one or two kids like you on it. It's nothing special or amazing.

You've been in the news for scoring 4 unassisted goals in a game? I'd love to see the article. Usually scoring that many unassisted goals in a game tells a scout you're a puck hog, and not a team player.

You've scored 120 goals in a season? Big Deal. I've scouted hundreds of players who scored 200+ goals for their respective city and high school teams.....and I can count on one hand the number that played in the NHL.

Everyone says you have the most Amazing Jets? Well, I looked at your bio, says you're 13. At that age, boys are in various stages of puberty, and come in all different sizes. So, speed means nothing until you are in Junior.

Based on what you've written, not too many NHL teams would be interested. In fact, with the plethora (one of Danny Gallivan's favourite words) of 300 point players in select and rep hockey today..............170 points might not even get you to the Junior ranks.

You were a much better statistician than a hockey player!

OK I only have one question.... how old are you?

I have played hockey since I was 3 too, and I got plenty of goals,,, before switching to goalie when I was a squirt. And I have hundreds of hockey trophy's, but the truth is, I got most of them when I was little. those don't mean anything. Just because you are fast, and everyone thinks you are good doesn't mean you will make the NHL. I know a kid from where I live, he played AAA his whole life, and he was one of the best kids on the team. Him and another kid named Philip McRae were the teams two studs. He was one of the biggest kids on the team. He lead the team to multiple nation championships, and the team is still together winning more national championships. But I just saw this kid a few weeks ago, and he is 17 or 18 now, and he is so small. He never grew, and he is still good, but he is too small to play in the NHL. Philip went and played Juniors in Canada, but he is still here playing. Just because he never shot up, and filled out. I am not saying that short people won't make the NHL, because I am very short myself, but I am saying that the chances are VERY small. I mean, this kid was one of the best in the nation for years, and he has all the skill in the world, then he just fell of the board. I hope you do make the NHL, but I don't think you will be able to tell until you are 16-18.

When I was 13, I played for an 'A' team too
My team won the Quebec Pee Wee Hockey tournament
I twice scored 5 goals in a game
I had two 100 goal seasons

And I did make the NHL..........as a statistician.

I can name hundreds of people who scored 100 goals playing for 'A' teams across Canada, it seems every year each league has a few............only a handful played professional hockey. Only two played in the NHL.

My guess............score the 170 points as a 17 yr old and see if anybody drafts you. Then have a discussion with Yanic Perreault...........who scored 185 points his last year of junior.........and still ended up in the 3rd round.

No. You are lacking in hockey sense. You can't blow past anyone. Also, you might want to spend some extra time in school in case that plan doesn't work out for you. You'll learn some really neat stuff, like that you don't need to start every word of a sentence off with a capital letter. Also, this neat little thingy-'
As for your stats-you really seem to be a puck hog. Great players make them around them better. 4 unassisted goals isn't really something to brag about, 2.2 more goals than assists. I see a trend. Not Really That Amazing My Friend.

I Will Decline To Answer This Question As It Is Difficult To Read As Every Word Is Capitalized. I Certainly Hope A Word Processor Did This For You When You Typed It, Because It Is Very Difficult To Type Like This.

I predict that in 10 years you'll be pumping gas or perhaps bagging groceries for a living. You're so full of yourself I'm sure that you're convinced you're going to make the NHL and thus have not bothered to focus on any other skills that will make you a useful member of society. Prepare yourself for a lifetime of banality and jobs that require a name-tag.

Yeah, the stats seem a bit selfish to me too. People who only have that aspect to their game are usually easy to stop when at a higher level, because they become targeted. If they know that you are that unlikely to pass....well, not too hard to coach against. It is time to expand the game, and as another poster stated, make sure you get an education should it not work out.

Well, you're not winning any grammar or humility awards, so I really hope you make it.

By the way, 4 unassisted goals could also mean you should pick your head up and dish the puck once in every little while.

I don't know, but consider giving the Nashville Predators, who have been having a firesale this offseason, and might need a player or two, a call and see what happens!

Oh, and give Jim Balsille and ring and tell him you have a moving van available and enough gas to get you from Nashville to Hamilton...

I gotta agree with everybody else. You have to keep your ego grounded to the point where you want to improve yourself every game, every practice, every second of your life.
