I'm a registered Republican, I'm quiet ashamed to be honest. The only reason I'm still registered Republican is to vote for Ron Paul!

I have been a registered republican since I could vote. However, I find myself somewhat liberal on many social issues. At the same time, however, I'm a fiscal conservative that believes the more taxes, more spending and the bigger the government is a bad trend to set. I also believe that we cannot pull out of Iraq right now and we must see it through until the country is willing to stand on its own two feet.

With that being said, the republicans literally went against everything they stand for in the terms on being responsible on spending. This made me realize that I'm either an independent or a libertarian. As a matter of fact, I would register as a libertarian if they could actually unite under one purpose beyond the Fair Tax.

I was raised in Arizona where Goldwater was God, so I became a Republican, when I got older and saw the decline of this country, by going with a Freidman style economy I switched to Democratic. But it seems that once I did that, the Democratics became more Republican. So I sit here and wait for either a Democratic or a Republican, to stand up for Labor in this country, and to quit claiming who has God on their side. Any of them need to realize that with no middle class there is no democracy. In the meantime I vote on the candidate not on the party.

My dad was a lifelong Democrat, but in recent years he feels they have gone too far to the left. The Democrat party today is not the same Democrat party that he supported all his life. He agrees with the quote "I didn't leave the Democratic party, the Democratic party left me." He is an independent now.

Ive considered myself a conservative Democrat, but Clinton shenanigans drove me away from the party.
I cant bring myself to be a Republican either. I just cant quote enough psalms to fit in.
I want to be an Obama, Gore or Dean Democrat, but it looks as if Ill maintain my independence for yet another election. Ill never vote Clinton again.

I was an aspiring Democrat for a LONG time, but I just recently changed sides. I registered Republican a few months ago.

I'm still a democrat - but I know quite a few people who now ID themselves as independents. Most still end up voting Democrat anyway so it's no big deal to me.

I've thought about it--but I still want to have access to the Primaries. I'm currently registered as a Democrat--though I've considered switching to Green.

I was a registered Democrat but they have gone too for to the left and too close to socialism for my taste....

And the Republican party is a joke.

EDIT TO ADD---

Trumph...that is the ONLY reason that I am now registered as a Republican....so I can do what I can to get Ron Paul in...

And that is the ONLY reason.
