could my husband have gotten a loan on a prime equity line with out my signature ??????? we bought a house 6 years ago and one the deed it states his first and last name and the words...(as a married man) ......my name isn't on there,,,,but on the mortgage it is...

could he have gotten a new loan added on with out my signature or he did it unlawfully???? we're not doing too good and we want to sell the house but the loan that he took out is being used by him only he's using it for whatever he wants!!! and i heard if we sell the loan will be paid of first and then we split the rest thats left...but how is that fair when i have no access to the loan and I'm not using any money from it??? could i do anything??? basically i get robbed..

thanks!

If your husband's name is the only one on the deed, they your signature is not needed on any loan documents pledging it as security.

It would be extremely unusual for his name to be on the deed alone but both of your names to be on the mortgage. Quite frankly, I've never heard of that.

You should consult with an attorney quickly. Since your name is not on the deed, you may not have any right to the home in the case of a divorce or should your husband die.
