Hint: The next entitlement has already been proposed recently by Hillary Clinton

tompink: Actually I am in favor of doing away with income tax in favor of an increased national sales tax. It will limit fraud and no one will be able to escape paying. This is not what I consider an entitlement though because I am not asking anyone to give me anything and I am more than willing to pay my fair share. Further I oppose overspending by the government and I am well aware that the bill for the war is going to hurt us all in the pocketbook at some point. This is just a reality that cannot be denied, but many still try.

jerseygyrrl: The question is not why we should have Universal helath care or not. In fact it is not about that subject at all. It is about entitlements and no matter how you try to justify it, it is still considered an entitlement.

Are you serious? I want to answer this, but...you can't be serious. Why don't you do some research online (whenever you have some free time) and find out how much it costs to insure a family of four who can't get it through an employer. Because the cheapest I found that would fit my families needs would require a $1000 copay for each person (before the coverage would start), we'd pay 20% of Dr. visits, and minor co-pays for prescriptions, and it's $850 a month. I'm not asking for a handout, but that's ridiculous. Is it really too much to ask to make it somewhat affordable? It's funny that most republicans are pro-choice but against healthcare for babies. If life begins at conception, does it end at delivery?

Very usa has some large medical doctors yet many people can not arise with the money for them. Plus, US drugs concentrates strongly on therapy while socialized drugs focuses extra so on prevention and scientific care. Socialized drugs would be an remarkable decision for many persons of the voters that can not arise with the money for to purchase into the present equipment. have you ever been to a medical institution? i attempted to get some scientific advice and that they cautioned a cut back ... lol. Too many people can not arise with the money for any scientific possibilities. the persons answering this question that have not have been given any concerns approximately how they handle their wellness care by way of fact they're insured (the two by way of fact it somewhat is provided by skill of their corporation or they are able to arise with the money for to pay for it) are glaring.

To get rid of income tax! The (R)'s have been able to cut taxes and wage very expensive wars while continuing spending they approve of, so we could completely do away with income taxes and pay for everyone's health care and education. And still have plenty left over for defense.

Health care shouldn't be a privilege, but a universal right. Why should wealthy people be the only ones with access to life-saving medicine and attention? I don't understand why some people think this is an outrageous request.

What seems strange to me is that anyone sees access to health care as an unreasonable request. The US is the wealthiest nation in the history of the world, and the ONLY industrialized nation where millions of people have no access to health care. We can do better.

They want to be entitled to your entire paycheck so that they can redistribute the wealth to others with no desire whatsoever to make anything out of their lives.
