I must have missed that lesson. Let's see though. . . he didn't teach us about hummers in the Oval Office, he didn't sell U.S. Military secrets to the Chinese, and he didn't commit perjury.
Hmm. . . ya' know what? I'm going to need a little more time on this one. But just so I'm clear, Reagan did something SO horrible that we all should have learned our lesson, only we did not? Is that the gist of it? Okay, I'm on it.

Uh... Actually, Reagan did the best job of any President in the last 50 years. While I'm not so sure about Fred, his predecessor comported himself quite adequately.

Thompson was an established attorney before he became a Senator --- he left politics to go into acting...
But as for the comparison with Reagan -- he did a better job than most of the other leaders the past several decades.

Communicating well is an excellent talent for a political candidate or an elected official. (Look at our current president to see what things look like when they cannot communicate well.)
The important thing is not that a person is or is not an actor (look how well we've done with lawyers), but that he or she is able to use good judgment. Being able to communicate well is just a bonus.

Yes, Reagan taught us that an ex-actor could be the best president in recent history.
What Fred has going for him is that he gets it on the War on Terror, among other issues.
