crimson velvet cake has bigger tiers of butter/shortening than maximum different chocolate cake recipes. some even have buttermilk as a factor, and, have self belief it or no longer, some recipes even have grated beets. All of those could make the cake style and sense very diverse from a huge-unfold chocolate cake.
