what do you call what's going on right now in Iraq. For god's sake America can't even win a war that's totally useless. All the other wars america didnt win other countries won the wars for them. contrary to what some people think, America did not save England and France in world war 2. England was tough as steel and could have beaten the Germans by themselves. America did very little during world war one. The British fought in the american civil war on the union side. The French fought for America in the revolution and if it weren't for them America would be a British colony now. So Americans haven't ever will won a war.

First off Liberals we didn't lose Vietnam. Military wise, we did win that war. I agree with some on here who I usually don't, Politics at home caused the downfall with Lazy hippies marching in the streets, precursor of what is now the Left wing nuts. From 96 to 04 I was involved in every major conflict to include our present situation. In every aspect regardless of what the Media says both sides the left and the right, we are doin great things out there and with a recent change in Military tactics and manning the surge is starting to produce results and stubborn Gen, and Col, are starting to adapt to the hit and run tactics of our enemy's which is making a huge difference.

We had a ton of help defeating the Brit's
We had a dark war the civil war
We rocked in World war 1 and 2
we handled business in Korea and Vietnam
Gulf war was a cake walk
Present, keep the faith and see the wonderful things the men are doin out there
War on terror, we will never as country let these terrorists break our will unless we get a coward in office who is weak like Edwards or Obama,

Well, there was the Civil War...somebody had to lose.

Vietnam didn't end well, uniting Vietnam under Communism. It would be an insult to those who fought in that war to call it anything but.

While I wouldn't say that they "lost" the War of 1812, they were not successful in the attempt to gain control of Upper and Lower Canada. At one point in the war, the White House and several other buildings in Washington were burned down.

Yes. George Washington's early wars against indians like Little Turtle in the Ohio Wilderness did not go well. Not until Mad Anthony Wayne won the Battle of Fallen Timbers did the fledgling US Army begin to get the twist on the Indians.

Yes we have. It was the Viet Nam War. After the loss in Viet Nam of 55 thousand Americans we were chased out of Saigon, running for the US ships and helicopters as the North Vietnamese flooded the city.

We also, in many many cases, left the hurt veterans with too little care.

Many troops came home addicted to narcotics. Where did the drugs come from?

We lost the war at home too. We became a nation of drug addicts.

We also lost to the Hippie subculture who turned out to be right in so many ways.

Yes, Vietnam. Iraq technically isn't a war, because congress never issued a declaration of war.
Additionally note that basically every time the CIA goes in and tries to overthrow a regime in a foreign country, it backfires.

anytime a single soldier dies we have already lost the war. That doesn't mean that we shouldn't fight the ones that are worth fighting. No one wins a war. Sometimes peace and the right thing happens to be on the other side of war and in those cases they are worth fighting. On the other hand our soldiers have never lost a war. Our soldiers fight and pay the ultimate price for our freedom. Men and women that are willing to do that for us can never loose.

Not sure if Vietnam was a declared war or a Conflict. The Vietcong took over the territory. I'd chalk that up as a loss.

It depends on your definition of "win".

We've never declared a loss -- but we've frequently been unable to meet all the objectives -- particularly in the early 1800s.

And since "America" was both sides of the Civil War....
