I think the inspection criteria are likely to be well defined, I expect there are certain bolts that would be checked with a torque wrench.
But, I don't believe bridge inspection is quite that simple.

I don't know how it's done. I'm assuming you posed this question in light of the recent tragedy. I just don't know how much inspection could have really prevented it! :-(

obviously not. And speaking of fish, I saw something on tv today about noodling???? Is that it with people catching big fish???? I don't remember what it was called but weird.
