So basically Bush & Co. have to answer to no one?

They can do whatever the hell they please, and Bush can just say no?

Is this REALLY what our government has become?

Congress can step in -- they have constitutional authority to do so. Congress simple so far refuses to do so.

So yes, this is what our govt has become -- there's been an effective coup and very few people seem to care because they can still watch TV.

Read the Constitution. It's called separation of powers. The Democrats in Congress are trying to usurp the Presidential powers. That is very dangerous. The other main thing is that it's not that Bush's people have been involved in anything improper. Gonzales did a terrible job answering questions about the firings (and he shouldn't have even had to answer questions about them either). What he should have said whas, "We fired them for political reasons, because we can. They serve at the President's whim." End any other discussion. The Dems would have been stunned, this thing would be history. Now, it's just snowballing over nothing.

Accountable to whom? The Democrats? When they are held accountable for their own foibles, then the President should comply with their request. Until then, he should tell them to PO.

God, it particularly is yet another huge ingredient incorrect with the Iraq conflict, contractors doing artwork that is carried out with the help of militia enlisted in previous wars at a plenty larger fee. That the artwork is complete badly is each and every of the greater serious.

I think that in all honesty this administration will go down as perhaps the worst in history. Multiple and numerous abuses that have threatned our safety and our stability.

I do not know, nor will I ever understand how so many people voted for this and still defend it to this day.

Bush is a tyrant. It's not that his behavior is unprecendented. He's just an exaggeration of all the tyrranical tendencies of the presidency.

Dude get real, Bill Clinton pardoned every one of his Whitewater Pal that went to the pen. Here's another one Sandy Berger stole files to save Clinton's butt with the 9-11 commission. I am so tired of hearing your liberal hypocrite double standards on here from the left. Remember if your gonna throw stones make sure your own house is not made of glass or your own house not filled with guys like Ted Kennedy who commit vehicular manslaughter and get away with it!!!
